Labiaplasty FAQs
Labiaplasty, when performed by a skilled
surgeon, will only improve sexual intercourse. In many cases, the excess
skin and tissue that may have gotten in the way during sex before will
now be removed. The clitoral region will be protected and the sensory
nerves will be preserved so that sexual intercourse is not impacted
negatively.
As with any surgery, there may be numbness in
the vaginal area after the procedure is completed. This is temporary as
the skin and vaginal lips heal. In regards to sensitivity, it is
essential to understand that labia rejuvenation affects, for the most
part, the vaginal lips only. The clitoris serves sensitivity. A skilled
cosmetic surgeon who specializes in labiaplasty will work around this
area so that a loss of sensitivity does not occur.
Before your surgery, a Premier Surgical Arts
team member will go over what to expect after your labiaplasty plus tips
to make your recovery more comfortable. You will have some swelling and
bruising in the treated areas and a certain amount of discomfort
immediately after your procedure. It would help to rest for at least a
week before resuming light activities. Your recovery will be evaluated
during your check-up appointments and we will let you know when you can
resume exercise and sexual activity.
