Reduction Process
Surgical breast reduction is an outpatient procedure and is conducted with the patient under general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery depends on several factors, including what incision method is used, the general reduction technique, and finally, the degree of reduction. The areola and nipple area repositioning is also a factor. In most cases, liposuction is necessary for tissue and fat reduction to reduce breast size. Can I breastfeed after a breast reduction?

For this reason, Dr. Demaree suggests that patients be done having children or be willing to not breastfeed before considering breast reduction surgery.
