Lumecca
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Eau Claire and Wisconsin
Lumecca IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a type of advanced skin treatment technology used primarily for skin rejuvenation and addressing various pigmentation and vascular issues. Lumecca utilizes high-intensity pulses of broad-spectrum light to target and treat skin concerns. It differs from traditional laser treatments in that it delivers a range of wavelengths in each pulse, allowing it to address multiple skin issues simultaneously.
Lumecca IPL can effectively treat sun spots, age spots, freckles, and other forms of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage or aging. It can also target and reduce the appearance of vascular lesions such as spider veins, broken capillaries, and redness caused by rosacea.
Lumecca promotes collagen production and can improve overall skin texture, tone, and elasticity. In some cases, IPL devices like Lumecca may also be used for hair removal, although it’s primarily known for its skin rejuvenation capabilities.
Lumecca Expectations
A cooling gel is applied to the treatment area to enhance comfort and help the light penetrate the skin. The handheld IPL device is then passed over the skin, emitting rapid pulses of light that are absorbed by the targeted pigmented or vascular lesions.
Patients typically experience a snapping or warming sensation as the light is applied, but discomfort is usually minimal.
Recovery and Results
Results from Lumecca treatments can often be seen after just one session, though multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results depending on the severity of the skin issues. There is usually minimal downtime associated with Lumecca IPL. Some patients may experience mild redness or swelling immediately following treatment, which typically resolves within a few hours to a day. Overall, Lumecca IPL is valued for its versatility in treating a wide range of skin concerns, its effectiveness, and its ability to achieve noticeable improvements in skin appearance with minimal discomfort and downtime.
